Halal certification is a process where a credible organization certifies that the products and or services offered by a company meet the specified halal standard. In the case of halal food certification, every stage of food processing is examined, “from farm to table”. Halal certification tells Muslims that they can lawfully consume a company’s products based on syariah principles. This provides consumer confidence and prevents any confusion about the halal status of a product. Halal certificates are given to companies that meet the criteria and they are allowed to use a halal mark on their products.

Halal product certification system also involves testing and inspection activities. The CB offering halal certification may subcontract the testing or inspection activity to another party. However, it is crucial for the CB to ensure the sub-contracted body or person is competent and complies with stipulated requirements relevant to testing, inspection or other technical activities.

In addition, to uphold the integrity of halal certification activities, it is necessary that a sufficient number of the CBs’ staff be Muslims. The Ayush products are regulated under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 by the Drugs Controller General of India through the State Governments. The Department of AYUSH has been exploring the possibility of introducing a voluntary product certification scheme for selected AYUSH products to enhance consumer confidence. The matter was discussed in a series of meetings taken by the Secretary (AYUSH) beginning 24 Dec 2008 and the Quality Council of India (QCI) offered to develop a concept paper on the subject.

The Scheme is based on a criteria for certification. It has two levels:

BIFMA Certification

BIFMA level certification is a voluntary standard for business and institutional furniture manufacturers. The standard establishes measurable criteria for multiple levels of achievement and performance for manufacturers at different stages of their sustainability journey. Manufacturers that achieve level certification demonstrate to the marketplace that their products, manufacturing facilities and company policies have met stringent third-party sustainability requirements.

In order to achieve a level certification, we support the furniture manufacturer of the applicant product by assessing their conformance according to the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard.

Once our experts confirm that the prerequisites of the four basic elements of level certification criteria have been met, it is possible to receive additional credits toward multiple levels of achievement in each element category by meeting the specified performance requirements.

Credits Lead to level Certification

Beyond the prerequisites, there is no minimum number of credits from any of the four major elements required to demonstrate conformance. The required credits can come from any of the four elements. Each credit has one or more points that accumulate toward a level of conformance. In addition to a minimum number of total points required for each conformance level, there is also a minimum number of product related points for each level.

Throughout the certification period, the baseline and normalization values selected for each credit will be used consistently. The option to flexibly define the unit of measure appropriate for each credit enables you to demonstrate change over time.

GOST-R Certification

Gost R Certificate of Conformity a Certificate of Quality. These Certificates declare that the available documentation is corresponding the legal laws and regulations of Russia.

The list of products requiring Mandatory Gost r Certification is issued and continuously updated by the Federal Agency for technical regulation and metrology. Whereas the voluntary Gost R certificate is Blue, the mandatory Gost R certificate is Yellow.

When a product or establishment is certified Kosher, it signifies that an establishment or a company comply with a strict policy of kosher food laws, including cleanliness, purity, and quality. It is the highest standard of kosher foods, built on a deep level of trust between manufacturers, producers and consumers.

Kosher foods are the food items that follow the regulations of kashrut (Jewish dietary law). To be certified Kosher, all ingredients in every product—and the process of preparing the product—must be certified for kosher-compliance too. All the products with a KA logo on it signifies product as kosher.

For a product to be kosher certified, and to qualify for a kosher certificate, each ingredient, food additive and processing aid used in its production must also be kosher. Additionally, to be kosher certified, the production process must be suitable for kosher requirements and therefore it must be approved by a kosher auditor. Products may be rendered non-kosher if their production lines and equipment are also used to manufacture non-kosher products.

Green certificate

A green certificate is a tradable asset which proves that electricity has been generated by a renewable (green) energy source. It is also referred to as Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) or Renewable Obligation Certificate (ROC). Green certificates represent the environmental value of renewable energy generated. The certificates can be traded separately from the energy produced. Several countries use green certificates as a mean to make the support of green electricity generation closer to a market economy instead of more bureaucratic investment support and feed-in tariffs. ROHS- Restriction of Hazardous Substances

RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance.

The restricted materials are hazardous to the environment and pollute landfills, and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during manufacturing and recycling.

The substances banned under RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and four different phthalates (DEHP, BBP, BBP, DIBP).
